Lakeshia Edwards

You’ll usually find Lakeshia “Kiki” Edwards, our June EOTM, on our blood drives. A phlebotomist, Kiki’s been with The Community Blood Council of New Jersey since 2001, immediately following her graduation from Harrison Career Institute in Lawrenceville. Before Kiki earned her phlebotomist’s degree, she was a patient care technician for several group homes in the Trenton area, and is also a cardiovascular technician.

She’s a young woman with a game plan for life. She’s the first person in her family to attend college, and is currently enrolled in the nursing program at Mercer County Community College; she plans to graduate in 2006. After getting her nursing degree, she plans to earn her Master’s degree as a nurse-practitioner.

A native of Trenton, Kiki graduated with Presidential Honors from Trenton High School. She has a daughter Catera, who is five years old and is in Kindergarten at Cadwallader Elementary School. Kiki also takes care of her eleven-year-old brother Gemerre.
