Great Students Create Great Posters
Regular CBC-NJ blood donor Jerry Calamia works for the N.J. Department of Labor and is also a member of St. Gregory the Great Church. (We hold several blood drives each year with both groups.) This year, Gerry and Barbara Sanna, the DOL’s nurse, came up with the idea of a poster contest for students at St. Gregory the Great. DOL donors voted on the posters. Winners were Amanda Krall-Simon from class 8A and Alyssa Esteban of class 8B.
Amanda and Alyssa each received a $25 gift certificate to Blockbuster Video, and will have a private tour of our blood bank and lunch with CEO Jim Gosnay. Additionally, all of the 8th grade students at St. Gregory’s will be treated to a pizza party, to thank them for their participation.
The students’ posters are currently on display at CBC-NJ in our lobby.
On hand to award the prizes: St. Gregory principal Joan Pramberger, Jerry Calamia, Barbara Sanna, Jim Gosnay, Mrs. Maria Carfaro, teacher, Alyssa Esteban, Amanda Krall-Simon.
A timely message. St. Gregory the Great students' posters highlight our need for blood, especially during the holiday season. The posters, on display in our lobby, form a backdrop for our Christmas tree.
